Ross Douglas is ‘in a word – eclectic’! A love of both popular and humorous song took hold early thanks to his mother’s collection of Victor Borge records, and then, of course, The Beatles really perked things up. After studying both music and theatre, a professional career involving both ensued. Increasingly, Ross was the actor who also played an instrument, eventually writing songs for various theatrical pieces on piano, guitar, mandolin, ukulele and banjo. This perfectly suited his eclectic nature!
Ross is an award-winning songwriter, and has written and produced 3 albums of original songs. Some of his musical achievements include: being the piano player in the satirical glam rock The Choke Sisters, Playing “Brad Majors” in the first ever Canadian production of the ROCKY HORROR SHOW; Seeing much of the world as Piano Player / Narrator in the second-ever cast of BILLY BISHOP GOES TO WAR, including stops on-and-off-Broadway, and in Bermuda, and Berlin.
